Deputy Superintendent of Police and Assistant Superintendent of
Police and that reference is made in a footnote to page 138 in
the same publication where information as to the Police Probatio-
-ner Scheme is given. In future issues the posts of Deputy
Superintendent of Police and Assistant Superintendent of Police
will be earmarked as reserved for the Police Probationer Service
and for Cadets appointed to the Hongkong Civil Service prior to
the 15th. March, 1901, (i.e. the date on which Mr. P. P. J.
Wodehouse was appointed an Assistant Superintendent of Police)
and the post of Captain Superintendent of Police will be noted
- as one for which Cadets are eligible but have not a preferential
claim.
